WINE Named after Rossana, younger daughter of Angelo Gaja, whose nickname is Rossj, and the site of one of the vineyards used to make this wine, positioned in the lower part of a hill (low in italian is “basso”).
Rossj-Bass is produced from three separated vineyards in the Langhe district: two of them, Rossj and Bass – and both were planted in 1984, are located in area surrounding the village of Treiso. Rossj-Bass includes also Chardonnay grapes from a vineyard in Serralunga d’Alba.
The 2023 Rossj-bass presents a powerful burst of tropical fruit and citrus flavors. The concentrated flavors reveal layers of mango, mandarin, cedar, and a slight hint of spice, floral notes, anise, and vanilla. The structure is solid, delivering elegance through its woven acidity. The finish is wellbalanced, leaving a lasting impression of sweet citrus.
