2010 Firriato Chiaramonte Ansonica

This was a grape used to make Marsala but today they have elevated the status of the wines made with this varietal. White peach and pear like fruit on the nose with a touch of anise spice and a slight briny mineral compliment almost like a sweet tart. A good amount of fruit on the palate fairly rich with a hint of that anise in the finish with nice minerality showing and good length to the finish, that sweet tart showing at the end as well.
