Emmanuel Verrier, is the worthy representative of five generations of winegrowers, established since 1860. In 1929, his grandfather, Raymond, decided to produce a champagne wine and enlarged the vineyard by buying the best plots on the best terroirs. The estate, 35 plots on 5 hectares of sunny hillsides, is planted with rustic vines, half of which are Pinot-Meunier, 35% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot-noir. This cuvée was created in 1985 by Maryse and Francis Verrier combining finesse and complexity.
The flagship of Maison Verrier at the time. 90% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir. Blended with 25% Reserve wines from 2 previous years. Aging in the cellar for 4 years before the sale. Origin Côteaux du Petit Morin (between Epernay and Sézanne). South-East exposure, vines exclusively on hillsides. Two villages and Ten Lieux-dits are blended for this cuvée. Age of the vines 20 years and type of soil limestone to Belemnite. Manual harvest and vinification in stainless steel and enamelled steel vats.
