2014 Volker Eisele Cabernet Sauvignon Terzetto Napa

Composition: 1/3 Cabernet Sauvignon, 1/3 Cabernet Franc, 1/3 Merlot, co-fermented

Harvest: The grapes were harvested October 1, 2014.  Brix:  25,  Acidity:  0.59,  pH:  3.57

Oak Aging:  22 months in 60% new French oak barrels from Treuil cooperage (i.e. Aillier and Troncais).

Organic:  All fruit is organically grown in our estate vineyard.

The wine is deep burgundy color in the glass, with bright red undertones. The nose is expressive and refined, with black plum, malted chocolate, graphite, and the spiciness of toasted French oak – nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove. In the mouth, the wine is densely textured, with volatile, rich flavors of ripe black cherries, blackberries, dark chocolate and freshly ground espresso. The finish is lengthy and perfumed with the smoke of sweetly charred French oak.
