2013 Michael and David Petite Petit Lodi

2013 Michael and David Petite Petit Lodi image

(90 points) "Another consistent success from this Lodi producer is the 2013 Petite Petit, a blend of 85% Petite Sirah and 15% Petit Verdot. They make 80,000 cases of this wine, which probably takes much of the production of Petite Sirah out of the Lodi AVA. An outstanding wine with gorgeous aromatics of incense, blueberry liqueur, camphor and blackberry, the wine hits the palate with a full-bodied, thunderous inky feel to it, great fruit purity, amazingly supple, velvety tannins for Petite Sirah and Petit Verdot, and a long finish. This is another wine that over-delivers in a big way.) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.
