2008 Heitz Martha's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Napa

(90 Points) Medium bright ruby. Cool, slightly weedy aromas of blackberry, crushed rock and eucalyptus, along with some funky leather and game nuances; rather claret-like. Pliant, rich, savory wine with an element of herbal lift and a restrained sweetness to its dark berry and savory mineral flavors. Finishes with tongue-dusting tannins, a hint of cocoa powder and good length. A bit flinty and green for my taste but nicely balanced and not hard--and evolving slowly. The flavors are old-fashioned but the texture is suave. (ST) 90+- Vinous
