Green Valley is one of the smallest appellations in Sonoma County. It lies in the southwestern part of the Russian River Valley, bounded by the towns of Sebastopol, Forestville and Occidental. Due to its proximity to the Petaluma Wind Gap, fog is a key trait to Green Valley. The fog brings with it cooler mornings temperatures, ideal for quality grape growing. The soil, Goldridge, is known to be sandy loam, dark golden in color, and it's exceptional drainage.
