(96 Points) What most people miss with Pape Clement, is that the wine is so concentrated, intense and a bit oaky in its youth, it needs cellaring time to really reveal its all. Still youthful here, another 5-7 years are needed before everything really starts coming together. Still, it is impossible not to see and enjoy the intensity, purity, depth of flavor, length and richness. The tannins are ripe, the texture is akin to velvet and the smoky, dark berries in the finish resonate for ages. Opened in the name of science, I'm waiting another 5 years before popping another bottle. I'm thinking my score could also pop another Pt or 2, once this really gets going. 96 Points - Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider
