(93-95 points) “The 2020 Ried Loibenberg Riesling opens very spicy, fresh and almost hard, with intense aromas of white peaches and apricots. Dense, intense and powerful on the palate, this is a massive, close-meshed and tannin-rich Riesling with concentrated juice yet a still-bitter, dry grippy finish. This 2020 needs some years to extract its talents, which are there, but at this early stage it is pretty difficult to give an exact forecast. Tasted as a sample in June 2021, to be bottled in July. 2020 is the first vintage Lucas Pichler doesn't use the predicates of the Vinea anymore since he left the group earlier this year.
