2012 Somerston Stornaway Napa Estate Red

A tiny production wine at under 500 cases, this wine is from a single vineyard on the 1200 acre property much of which is dedicated to lakes, forest and cattle ranching. A blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, this wine has a good amount of graphite and fresh plowed earth like mineral notes to the black currant and red cherry and plum like fruit, fine herbs and dark tobacco spice, pretty floral notes, very complex bouquet of aromas. A big and chewy wine with lots of dark berry furit a firm hand of tannins here but they are round and ripe fruit, bitter coco and a good hand of fresh earth, graphite and fine herbs through the finish. finish 50+ Most Excellent
