If God forbade drinking, would He have made wine so good?
Cardinal Richeleu
Bordeaux is one of our favorite wines and although the first growths and other top wines of Pomerol carry a hefty price tag you can still find a few great values even among some of the classified growths in St. Estephe, Margaux, St Julien and the Medoc.
And when we hit a subject, we hit it hard. As I always say “we are doing scientific work with wine here at the Wine Watch”. We have already hosted three events in 2023 with the wines of Bordeaux going all the way back to the 1959 vintage. We have three more coming up over the next few weeks. Check out the calendar of events on our website to see what is coming up next. Wine Events - Wine Watch
This event features wines from the three of the greatest decades for Bordeaux of all time. The 1980’s, 1990’s and 2000’s. We just studied (tasted) wines from the 1950’s, 1960’s and 1970’s and most of these wines were still very good and the best wines from these vintages are still outstanding but with the influx of capital and new technology the wines of Bordeaux have never been better. I can’t wait to try the young wines of today 20 years from now. You have to be optimistic and take good care of yourself as most of the top wines from Bordeaux need 20 years to start to drink nicely.
The fee for this tasting, which includes dinner is $295 + tax, for reservations call 954-523-9463 or e-mail andy@winewatch.com.
