We like sweet words but we like wine better and this year we are studying wines that are 10, 20, and 50 years of age.  We just finished our 10 year studies in March so now it’s on to 20 in June.  Join us as we pop some bottles of 2005 vintage wines from California to see how these 20 year old wines are drinking today.    

This is true scientific research that we are doing here at the Wine Watch, checking each bottle to see when the best time to consume for the most drinking pleasure.  It's hard work but we are willing to sacrifice our body for our wine drinking people.  These wines are all from the outstanding 2005 vintage from California and they are now at 20 years of age which is what many would consider to be fully mature. 

The 2005 vintage was outstanding in many places on Earth for wine, but I remember being most excited about the wines of Burgundy, Bordeaux and Northern California.  After a huge 2003 and 2004 and with the price on the 2005’a being an all time high the Bordeaux futures campaign began and it was apparent from the start there was no way we were going to sell a bunch of 2005 vintage wines.  That was the last time we offered Bordeaux futures at Wine Watch.
