Music is just like wine. Each of us has very different tastes in what we like and dislike. The music that is “best” for one person can easily be “worst” for another people. So it’s always fun to see when wine is mentioned in song.
The 1980's produced a bevy of great vintages in Bordeaux as we will be tasting some top level 1982's on Saturday February 10th. I thought it would be good to follow up the following weekend with 1985 and 1986 vintage wines. Then, finish up our study of 1980's Bordeaux with 1989 and 1990 vintage wines on Saturday February 23rd.
The 1985 vintage is very forward and charming, they have always been wines you can just pop and pour but are they past their prime today? Maybe but that is why we host these tastings, as I always say we are doing scientific work with wine here at Wine Watch.
By contrast the 1986 vintage produced wines that were massively tannic and although they had fruit underneath these harsh tannins the concern has always been will the fruit last until the tannins subside?
Join us as we taste some top level Bordeaux from these two great vintages from the 1980's. The fee for this experient which includes dinner is $375 + tax, for reservations call 954-523-9463 or e-mail andy@winewatch.com. Please let us know when you make your reservations if you have any diestary restrictions or aversions and chefs Toni and Dani will be happy to accomodate you.
