La Fiorita Brunello di Montalcino Vintage Offerings Direct from the Winery back to 2001

A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti.
Hannibal Lecter - Silence of the Lambs
And if Hannibal was s true connoisseur of the Sangiovese varietal from Italy, he would have recommended a Brunello di Montalcino. We have host many Brunello di Montalcino events over the course of the year and at least one vintage Brunello tasting featuring wines that are at their peak years and this year the winner of our vintage Brunello tasting was the 2001 La Fiorita Brunello Di Montalcino Riserva!
One of five sisters, Natalie Oliveros was born in Northern New York. Although American born and bred, her Calabrese "Nonna" gave an Italian heritage and education to the family, which exposed Natalie - at an early age - to "basement winemaking" with her parents.

In the early 2000s, parallel to her adult entertainment career, she was introduced to Roberto Cipresso, wine consultant and co-owner of La Fiorita. Natalie and Roberto started to collaborate on a series of Italian wines – "Sogno", which translates as "dream".
Today, Natalie is the main Owner of La Fiorita Brunello di Montalcino. She leads a team that includes Luigi Peroni, the Estate Manager (disciple of La Fiorita for 20 years), Vincenzo Pirrone, the talented young wine maker, Michele Marini the warehouse Manager and François Colas Marketing Director.
We have an incredible collection of wines from our good friend Natalie in stock that she has sent to us directly from the winery. Many of these wines are in their peak years of drinking which are priced incredibly reasonably considering the new releases and the fact that in great vintages like 2016 you need another 10 years in the cellar before these wines are drinking at their peak. Check out the newest release the NO 2016 Brunello di Montalcino along with all the older vintages wines that are on this offering.

2016 LA FIORITA BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO FIORE DI NO
Price: $157.50 Your Price: $133.88 Quantity in Stock: 6
Fiore di NO is Natalie Oliveros' thumbprint on La Fiorita to select and extract the essences of 3 of 4 of their estate vineyards: Pian Bossolino (360m), Giardinello (360m) and Collo Sorbo Vineyard (220m).
Made only on exceptional vintages, the diversity of soils carried by the Sangiovese from these 3 parcels give birth to wines where Natalie Oliveros has extracted the purest contrast between profound texture and freshness. She then blends these unique essences together to transform these singularities into a unity that is: Fiore di NO Brunello. The nose here is classic Brunello with red cherry, wild strawberry fruit mixed with sage, sweet herbs and fresh earthy character along with red licorice spice. (94 Points) The 2013 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva (with only 3,900 bottles made) shows a dark and nicely saturated appearance followed by fruit-forward aromas of dark cherry, cassis, spice, moist soil, balsam herb and fresh pine cone. This pretty wine reveals all the classic characteristics of Brunello and they are presented with elegant and lasting intensity. 2016 LA FIORITA BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO
Price: $75.00 Your Price: $63.75
(94 Points) The La Fiorita 2016 Brunello di Montalcino unfolds to dark fruit, cherry, tobacco and sweet spice. This wine shows very nicely, thanks to the balance of its fruit, and is characterized by a delicate sweet note that recalls cassis and wild raspberry. The wine is open and accessible from the start, and that bodes well for those who don't care to wait and age their Brunello too long. Indeed, I could see this wine matched up nicely to a wood-oven flatbread with shaved truffles layered generously on top. This wine draws its fruit from two sites, Poggio al Sole and Pian Bossolino, and ages in Slavonian oak casks for 24 months. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

2016 La Fiorita Rosso di Montalcino
Price: $29.75 Sale $26.18 Quantity in Stock: 25
Our Rosso Di Montalcino La Fiorita is made from Brunello vineyards grapes. They express a great introduction to Sangiovese from Montalcino and La Fiorita. Aged 20 months before being released, their balance will bring an experience of wanting to go further with our Brunello.
(90 Points) The 2016 Rosso di Montalcino shows a deep, healthy garnet color that is a site to behold. This wine is immediately attractive to all the senses, especially the nose. It offers intense but nicely measured aromas of wild berry, blueberry and dried raspberry. Beyond those primary fruit notes are territory-specific aromas of tar, potting soil and balsam herb. This is a classic Rosso di Montalcino. Some 10,500 bottles were made and you get terrific value here. Monica Larner
A bit about La Fiorita:

From its foundation in the early nineties to today, the La Fiorita estate has always sought to perfect the taste, longevity and aromatic complexity of its Brunello offerings, which emanate from the magical union of the Sangiovese grape with the unique terroires that surround Montalcino.
This permanent search for excellence drives every choice and action taken to assure the most optimal viticultural and vinification processes. Traditional and modern techniques combine to enhance quality from soil to bottle without compromise or shortcuts with virtually all interventions done by hand.
Since 2011, with the acquisition of the estate by Natalie Oliveros, La Fiorita has embarked on numerous projects of long term importance. Three are of particular note. The first was the 2014 planting of the third Brunello certified, fully organic, vineyard to the south-west area of Montalcino.
The second are the steps taken to date to secure organic certification for the other two vineyards and the third is the design and layout of a state-of-the-art winemaking and cellaring facility Construction commenced in early 2018 at the birthplace of the La Fiorita estate and is planned to be ready to host the 2019 harvest thus cementing La Fiorita's exciting future for decades to come.
These and other exciting projects will undoubtedly bring La Fiorita to a level of excellence first envisaged by its founders, and now pursued with resolute determination, focus and passion by its proprietor, Natalie Oliveros, for the enjoyment of its growing and loyal consumers worldwide.
La Fiorita was established in 1992 starting from a project that Roberto Cipresso, winemaker on the rising at the time, shared with two homeland friends; the first vineyard had an extension of half hectare and the annual production was of just 1.000 bottles of Brunello; the first vintage was the 1993 and it was entirely purchased en-primeur by Enoteca Pinchiorri of Firenze. The cellar was in the basement of an old building of the 18th century in the heart of the medieval town of Castelnuovo Abate.
The first vineyard was followed by the implantation of the Poggio al Sole vineyard and then of the Pian Bossolino vineyard, that increased the annual production to 25.000 bottles, divided by Normal Brunello and Riserva.
The initial cellar, of great charm and appeal, was an important part of the first phase of the winery; though it could not be the final achievement due to its limited size and its difficult positioning.
The entrance of Natalie Oliveros in the ownership beside Roberto Cipresso made new chapters being wrote in the life of La Fiorita; the immediate one is about the new position of the cellar in a new building with state of the art tools and equipment for the selection of the grapes and for the vinification and ageing processes. Moreover there will be a project for the new vineyard of Podere Giardinello, that will have a lot of influence on the future productions.
