Jean Marc Boillot One of the Best Producers in Puligny Montrachet

“You can’t buy happiness but you can buy wine, and that’s kind of the same thing.” – Anonymous

And Burgundy is one of the wines that really makes me happy.  The last few vintages have been excellent for both white and red Burgundy.

The Far East is starting to recognize the collectible nature of Burgundy and that although the top producers of Burgundy may produce a few dozen different wines, they only make a few hundred cases of these wines each year and they usually are not seen in the aftermarket.  Unlike the great wines of Bordeaux who get sold over and over again before they are consumed Burgundy lovers don’t usually sell their most prized possessions they hang on to them until they die planning to drink each precious bottle.

If you are a serious white Burgundy lover you want to take a look at this offering and quickly as some of these wines we only get a few cases of a year.  Jean Marc Boillot is one of the top producers of Puligny Montrachet and has some of the most prized vineyards of this region.  Check out the entire line-up of wines from this great producer on this offering even the Bourgogne blanc is excellent!

Jean-Marc Boillot was one of the younger generation in Burgundy who was determined to improve his family’s wines. In 1984, after vinifying 13 vintages at the family’s domaine, Henri Boillot, Jean-Marc walked out in protest, intent on producing highly concentrated, rich, and ripe wines. He became the winemaker for Olivier Leflaive for the next four years and at the same time produced wines from 5-acres of vineyards, bottled under his own label. The wines impressed Boillot’s grandfather, who bequest half his vineyard to Jean-Marc. Boillot runs his domaine from his grandfather Henri Boillot’s house and cellars in the village of Pommard. Jean-Marc’s maternal grandfather was the late Etienne Sauzet, from whom he also inherited exceptional vineyards.

Jean Marc Boillot – One of the best producers in Puligny Montrachet and beyond.

Price: $495.00                           Your Price: $445.50                         Quantity in Stock: 12

(95 Points) A very appealing lemon and lime colour. Unctuous and effortless on the nose. Ripe citrus, lemon skins, alongside an intense mouthful of pure orchard fruit, good acidity throughout, undemonstrative, but nonetheless with weight. I know more intense examples, but this has been very well made in an understated style. Drink from 2030-2037. Tasted Oct 2025.  Jasper Morris, Review Date: 01/2026

2024 Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot La Garenne Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru, France

Price: $185.00                           Your Price: $166.50                         Quantity in Stock: 6

A very classy nose, almost of rose petals. Very perfumed on the nose and also the same flavor on the palate. Super silky in texture with a powerful side, yet the wine has lots of finesse, like a Grand Cru. It has a massive finish of tangy pineapple.

2024 Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot La Truffiere Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru

Price: $232.50                           Your Price: $209.25

Cool, steely, mineral style, and a delicious bitterness, like that of freshly sliced pink grapefruit. Concentrated, showing impressive linear attack to the acidity, continuing right through the long, saline finish. Very fruity bouquet. A slightly richer style than other vintages, with just enough tension behind, but this is riper than in the past so a bit more muscular.

2024 Domaine Jean Marc Boillot Les Combettes Puligny Montrachet Premier Cru

Price: $225.00                           Your Price: $202.50

A very classy nose, almost of rose petals. Very perfumed on the nose and also the same flavor on the palate. Super silky in texture with a powerful side, yet the wine has lots of finesse, like a Grand Cru. It has a massive finish of tangy pineapple.

Price: $186.00                           Your Price: $167.40                         Quantity in Stock: 12

Lemon sherbet and lime, the early grace in the palate is supported by a striking tensile chalky depth, which builds to give breadth, complexity and length.

(93 Points) Lemon and lime colour. The fruit comes across a little riper, with some plum skins. Notably generous on the palate but still with excellent acidity, an intriguing little touch of liquorice further back, quite complex. Drink from 2029-2035. Tasted Oct 2024.  Jasper Morris, Review Date: 01/2025

(94 Points) Pale lemon. Quite a classy nose, still restrained but you can see a lot more to come beneath. There’s a lovely thread throughout, attractively ripe fruit, but no exotic flavours, fine tension in the middle of the palate and excellent length. Drink from 2030-2036. Tasted Oct 2024.  Jasper Morris, Review Date: 01/2025

2022 Domaine Jean Marc Boillot Les Garenne Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru

Price: $145.50                           Your Price: $130.95                         Quantity in Stock: 3

(92 Points) Welcome back to La Garenne, having been frosted out in 2021. Still a small crop, old vines on a poor soil. Mid lemon and lime. The fruit has an attractive balanced ripeness, an even flow across the palate, some ripe lemon touches, a pleasingly graceful texture, and medium length. Drink from 2028-2034.  Jasper Morris, Review Date: 01/2024

2022 Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot Les Referts Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru, France

Price: $159.00                           Your Price: $143.10                         Quantity in Stock: 2

(93 Points) Pale lemon and lime. The 20222 Les Referts has notably more density than the Garenne, a touch of salt on the citrus at the back of the palate, with generous yellow plum fruit in between. Good length. Drink from 2028-2035.  Jasper Morris, Review Date: 01/2024

2022 Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot La Truffiere Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru, France

Price: $190.50                           Your Price: $171.45

Super ripe with racy lemon acidity on the nose, and on the palate, lemon cream pie flavors. Vanilla bean, jammy golden raisin fruit, and very smoky and mineral, too. it’s like toast with a gob of butter. a powerful and succulent star fruit, mineral finish.

2023 Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot Monthelie Les Sous Roches Blanc Cote de Beaune

Price: $85.50                             Your Price: $76.95                           Quantity in Stock: 12

2024 Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot Monthelie Les Sous Roches Blanc Cote de Beaune

Monthélie "Les Sous Roches" Blanc is a rare and highly regarded French white wine from the Monthélie AOC in the Côte de Beaune region of Burgundy. Known as a close cousin to neighboring Meursault, white Monthélie wines represent less than 5% of the appellation's total production, making this particular Chardonnay expression quite unique.

"Les Sous Roches" sits at the top of a very steep, east-facing hill right beneath a rocky limestone bank. The name literally translates to "under the rocks".

2024 Jean Marc Boillot Montagny Blanc 1er Cru

Price: $51.00                             Your Price: $45.90

(90 Points)  A luminous green edge to the colour. Rather a fine nose, very much Montagny in style, to some extent chiselled but with more than adequate flesh behind on the palate. White fruit with the extra tension, crunchy stones on the palate.  Jasper Morris

2021 Jean Marc Boillot Montagny Blanc 1er Cru

Price: $53.00                             Your Price: $47.70

Very spicy on the nose and palate with creamy vanilla bean flavors. Round and silky in texture with lovely acid, juicy fruit, and a beautiful balance of tropical pineapple and citrus with lingering acidity.

2022 Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot Macon Lugny

Price: $38.75                             Your Price: $34.88

Fresh green apple citrus white peach floral aroma crisp acidity mineral driven clean smooth finish balanced structure.

2024 Jean Marc Boillot Bourgogne Blanc

Price: $39.75                             Your Price: $35.78

Pale lime colour. Some understated chardonnay fruit, ripe enough without being opulent. Another impeccable white wine from JM Boillot, with the extra grain of tension in this vintage, and a longer finish than the Mâcons. Drink from 2027-2029. Tasted Oct 2025.  Jasper Morris, Review Date: 01/2026

2023 Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot Les Jarollieres Pommard Premier Cru

Price: $135.00                           Your Price: $121.50

Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot Pommard 1er Cru Les Jarollières is a structured, serious Pinot Noir from the Pommard appellation in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune. It typically leans toward a more powerful style, with dark cherry and blackberry fruit, earthy and savory notes, and a touch of spice. As a Premier Cru, it has firm tannins and solid backbone in youth, often feeling a bit tight when young but rewarding with time. With aging, it develops more depth, showing leather, forest floor, and mineral complexity while keeping its muscular Pommard character.
