After the success of the last few week’s “Happy Hour” tastings, we have decided to carry on this casual event over the fall and this tasting is a belly up to the bar, hang out with your friends. The food is casual, this is not a sit-down dinner- a true “Happy Hour” style event mix and immingle with our “Wine Drinking People” but with GREAT wines.
On Wednesday, October 1st we have a great selection of wines from both Italy and France and not one special guest but four!
Join us as we welcome these four wine personalities to the wine bar for an evening to remember. This tasting starts at 6pm and chef Toni will be making some appetizers to accompany the tasting wines. 2021 SUAVIA MASSIFITTI BIANCO VERONESE IGT

Fittà is the name of the ancient village where Suavia is based. It derives from the Latin word, “fictus,” meaning, “driven-in,” which refers to the masses of columnar basalt that are naturally found in the area and appear to have been driven into the ground. The name, Massifitti, translates roughly as, “embedded masses” and pays tribute to this aspect of the local area. Made from 100% Trebbiano di Soave, Massifitti is fermented in stainless steel tanks following a 24-hour cold soak maceration. It is then refined for another six months in tank.
Clear and brilliant in appearance, Massifitti displays intense aromas of stone fruit, white flower blossom, and mineral. On the palate the texture is creamy and the wine showcases defined minerality and vibrant acidity. All of these characteristics culminate in a long and focused finish.

Made with selected grapes grown on lava terraces at an average altitude of 720 m above sea level, these Etna wines represent a unique combination of the typical elegance of mountain wine and minerality due to volcanic origin. The extraordinary wealth of minerals in Etna's volcanic soils is the source of the very sapid and typical flavor of the wines produced here. The quality of the soil is closely tied to Etna’s volcanic origins, as it was formed through the disintegration of lavas with different compositions and from different eras, and eruptive materials such as sands, ashes, pumice stone and “lapilli”. Even the climate distinguishes the Etna area respect to the rest of Sicily. The average temperatures on the mountains are lower and the climate also changes depending on the slope and the alyitude. From a winemaking standpoint, the wine diurnal temperature range is fundamental, as it gives the wines their good freshness and elegant aromas. Carricante is an indigenous white grape cultivated exclusively on Etna and its name refers to the plant considerable productivity. In fact, the name Carricante refres to a "plant full of fruits".
Brilliant straw-yellow color. On the nose, an intense bouquet with notes of wild flowers, grapefruit and apple. The palate is fresh, elegant and well-structured with a great minerality.

Just a few miles from the southernmost tip of the Italian peninsula, in a corner of Sicily that smells like Africa, is the lively agricultural center of Vittoria, home to Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico. The surrounding territory, set between two rivers, is characterized by its fertility and typical Mediterranean climate. The large Bonincontro vineyards are found in the heart of this area historically devoted to making high-quality wines. The characteristic sandy texture soils are ideal for raising the native grapes of Frappato, which are organically grown here with the guyot vine training system.
Vivid ruby red with violet highlights. The wine has a pleasantly fragrant bouquet of fresh red fruits, raspberries and blueberries. The palate is lively, fruity and smooth.

Castillo di Neive considers this wine to be the best Barbaresco to represent the village of Neive. The most technically perfect, being a combination of 4 vineyards, each one bringing its characteristics for a complex and well-balanced wine.
Fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures with an automatic pumping-over system. Aged for 12 months in oak barrels.
Aromas of red fruits and cassis are complemented by delicate hints of licorice, smoke, and caramel. TProud and elegant in its silky tannic structure, well supported by the right acidity and body.

The Damilano family began winemaking in 1890 when the current owner's grandfather, Joseph Borgogno, began cultivating grapes near the town of Piedmont Vezza Alba. This wine is 100% Arneis, a grape often referred to as "white Barolo" because it is grown close to some of the most famous areas of Barolo and has a similar richness. This wine is fresh, with bright acidity, vibrant peach and passion fruit flavors and an a delightful hint of almond on the finish.

Barolo Lecinquevigne is a blend of Nebbiolo from five vineyards located in the areas most adept for the cultivation of this varietal. Thegrapes used for this prestigious blend are grown in the calcareous-clay soils of Barolo, Grinzane Cavour, Monforte and Novello. The wine has a very distinct look, and it's difficult to guess its age. The Nebbiolo vines range in age from 30 to 50 years old. The resulting wine has a ruby-red color with orange highlights and leaves behind an intense fragrance of rose, leather, tobacco, and subtle hints of violet and tar. The taste is broad and encompassing, leaving a compelling sensation of softness in the mouth, with a long and persistent finish. This Barolo can be enjoyed right away, but also has the capacity to age very well. This wine is best served at 61°F -63°F. Planted since the 15th century in the Jura, on gravelly soils, it is often the first vine variety to ripen in the area. It gives red wines with a strong colour and hints of wild mushrooms, cherries and wild berries.
With its limpid ruby red colour, this Pinot Noir has a pleasant, pure and fine nose, revealing aromas of red fruits. On the palate, it is a powerful, rich wine with notes of black fruits and fine spices. The tannins are very present and the wine is elegant, making it a good wine for laying down.
