2021 Michele Satta Piastraia Bolgheri

Michele Satta started his own winery, one of the first in the Bolgheri region of Tuscany, in 1982; he rapidly earned respect and gained an outstanding reputation as a vigneron, consulting for other properties in the area including Ornellaia, where he planted many of their vineyards in the early 1990s. He himself farms some 70 acres planted to a wide range of varietals, both red and white. This wine is a blend of Merlot, Sangiovese, Cab, and Syrah; ripe and juicy, it has a solid core of black fruits and spices on the nose and on the palate.
