2011 Pousse D'Or Volnay 1er Cru Clos des 60 Ouvrees

An inner lieu-dit of “Caillerets,” this walled vineyard (also a monopole) delivers every vintage red Burgundy with depth, elegance and serious potential. Diligent green harvesting and vineyard selection at harvest leads to very small average yields. All the wines we import from the domaine are unfined and unfiltered. "Full ruby-red. Slightly reduced aromas of blackberry, raspberry and game, with a high-pitched suggestion of cassis leaf. Silky, sappy and broad in the mouth, with intense black fruit flavors joined on the back by licorice and mineral nuances.
