The vineyards here are at 3400 foot elevation, deep red volcanic soils vineyard hidden in the pine forests very low yielding vineyard. Intense thicker skins and very good acidity, all new oak for 18 months- the expensive French kind. Dark spice, coffee, mocha and dark currant, black cherry berry fruit with notes of dried meats and smoke. A good amount of tannins on the tongue with some dark and light cherry berry fruit and some fresh earth dry tannins on the finish. Holding up nicely on the second day well built and should last a few more years in the cellar. Finish 40+ Very Good +
