2010 Felipe Rutini Merlot Mendoza image

This wine is 100% Merlot from vineyards in Tupungato, Mendoza. Aged in 50% New & 50% 2° use French Oak barrels for 12 months. Merlot is winemaker Mariano Di Paola's favorite varietal and although Mendoza is not very well know for this varietal he is. The Rutini Merlot has a deep, dark violet color. The nose is complex but harmonious, displaying ripe black cherry and blackberry aromas and integrated notes of toast and vanilla. The palate is soft and enticing, with black fruit flavors and a long, silky finish.
