2005 Domaine Pierre Gelin Clos Napoleon Monopole Fixin Premier Cru (MAGNUM)

A monopole planted between '55 and '59 - it had been abandoned and was rescued from scrub brush) This too is surprisingly refined and offers up red and blue pinot fruit aromas that are distinctly earthy in character where the earth can also be found on the finer and accessible middle weight flavors that offer solid balance and ample finishing intensity.
