2018 Schug Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma

Francis Mahooney gave them most of the budwood, the older clones gave you more earth and terroir. The difference between the two cabernets is valley alluvial soils fruit and versus mountain fruit, above fog as opposed to under fog in the morning on the valley floor. A good amount of cigar box spice and dark currant and black raspberry berry fruit, nice richness but also has good freshness and balance with a note of that spice and earth showing through the finish.
