The magnum of champagne is the perfect size especially when your friend doesn’t drink
- Winston Churchill
These next two months are the best time to be here in South Florida if you are a wine lover because we have more “Once in a Lifetime” wine tastings these two months that almost the entire rest of the year and of course there is no better spot to be in the country than in South Florida in March!
We always hit it hard a few weeks before and a few weeks after my B-Day and this ultimate vintage Burgundy tasting with wines from Dr. Robert Maliner is the last of the big celebrations to celebrate my 1969 vintage. You know what I say- “Always drink the good stuff first!!”
The tasting starts with a Richebourg from the 1959 vintage, which Richebourg is hard enough to find much less one that is 60+ years old and in good shape. I only have 3 bottles of Richebourg in the store at the moment! Then, there is of course a 1969 vintage library wine from Remoissenet which looks like a brand-new release so even though it is a high-level Premier Cru the provenance here is exceptional. Speaking of provenance, did I mention that all the wines are from the cellar of Dr. Robert Maliner?
On to my favorite old vintage of all time the 1971 Jacques Prieur Musigny, which every time I have tasted this wine in the past it has been one of the single greatest Burgundies of all time. Then, the list just gets ridiculous with almost all Grand Cru wines to follow with producers like Leroy, DRC, Compte De Vogue and more…This is a truly “Once in a Lifetime” wine tasting for vintage Burgundy lovers!!
There are only 12 seats available for this event and the price which includes dinner is only $1500 + tax, for reservations call 954-523-9463 or e-mail andy@winewatch.com.
