2012 Catena White Stones Chardonnay

Named after Nicolas Catena’s youngest daughter, Adrianna Vineyard is located at 4,757’ elevation in the Tupungato region. This extreme high altitude provides the ideal cool climate to ripen Chardonnay with delicate floral and white fruit aromas and pure minerality. This cuvée takes its name and originates from a sector of 27 rows that is completely covered with oval white stones (gravel) and was the site of an ancient stream bed. This vintage is showing a bit more lush ripe fruit white peach and a note of butterscotch and vanilla bean creme brulee coming out on the second day. A very rich and layered wine on the tongue wiht a bit of development here but still a baby this wine has the structure and richness to last for a decade in your cellar it has ripe rich fruit starting to emerge under the firm had of acidity and a smooth creamy mineral laced finish. finish 50+ Most Excellent +
