(Score 91-93)Tasting note: In contrast to the airy nose of the Chambolle, this is brooding, backward and very serious with a somber nose of dark berry fruit aromas, earth, spice and violets that sit atop rich, full, velvety and powerful flavors that offer excellent freshness and energy on the tautly structured and intense finish. The tannins are firm but buried and this should improve for at least a decade and last for much longer. -Burghound
