2008 Sequoia Grove Cabernet Sauvignon Napa

The 2008 vintage is the sixth year after Michael Trujillo has had complete control of the show at Sequoia Grove and the wines now go from strength to strength and the Napa Cabernet Sauvignon has been on our “Best of List” 4 out of the 5 last years.
OUR TASTING NOTES: Things have changed quite a bit over the last 9 years since Kobrand has bought the property, this is the second vintage that the estate fruit is going into the Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, so there is no more reserve wine. A similar profile to the Napa of the past but a bit more complexity richer darker denser cedar box cigar wrapper and lots of cassis and currant berry fruit. A big and chewy wine but polished wine with ripe and round tannins a more forward and seductive than the 2007 and not as dry on the finish but just as long. Finish 45 TASTING DATE: 03/22/11.
