2007 Cafaro Cabernet Sauvignon Napa

This wine spends 17-18 months in oak and gets an extra year in bottle. Has a bit of Petite Verdot and some Merlot in the blend. Cafaro's property is close to the Stag's Leap District but the appellation of his vineyards lie in the Napa Valley uncategorized area, so not within any of the 15 appellations. Has a note of eucalyptus to the currant and black cherry fruit on the nose along with a pronounced fresh earth, sweet tobacco spice and fresh black earth. Nice density and richness onthe palate with a long layered finish resonating with dark chocolate and fresh black earth. Finish 50 Most Excellent
