Lewis Dinner at Café Maxx
Reception
2010 Lewis Chardonnay Napa
Price: $55.50 Sale $48.84
Quantity in Stock: 8
The usually warm Oak Knoll district north of Carneros was cooler than usual in 2010, giving us extended hang time toward harvest and enabling the grapes to achieve full ripeness and maturity. Our 2010 Napa Valley Chardonnay is full of ripe tree fruit - apricot, apple, and pear - with mineral and pistachio adding complex, nutty notes to the blend. With the flavor and texture of creamy caramel custard, the wine remains rooted with ample integrated acidity and toasty oak. 1,200 cases produced.
First Course
2010 Lewis Cellars Chardonnay Russian River Valley
Price: $55.50 Sale $48.84
Our Sonoma Chardonnay is sourced from some of the oldest Dutton Ranch plantings in the Russian River Valley, yielding unique character and complexity at harvest every year. Record cool temperatures during the early 2010 growing season pushed picking dates later than any vintage since 1998 - and it was worth the wait. Layers of lemon-lime citrus, honeysuckle and toasty tangerine are shot through with orangey spices. Succulent citrus flavors are fresh and lively on the palate while preserving a supple texture that gradually turns crisp with a final wash of mouthwatering natural acidity. 1,200 cases produced.

2009 Lewis Alecs Blend Napa
Price: $69
With Alec already starting high school it’s feeling like life in the fast lane. Top Gear is actually his favorite TV show and this new blend of 80% Syrah, 17% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon packs plenty of power and youthful pleasure. Sappy black cherry and blueberry fruits are injected with clove and vanilla oak spice plus traces of truffle and sandalwood. Lively off the line, the palate performs with all the complex componentry and smooth power of a 4-valve, liquid-cooled 4-stroke engine. 1,000 cases produced.
Price: $69.00

2009 Lewis Cabernet Sauvignon Mason's Napa
Price: $69.00
Three's a charm. Named after Dennis's third son, this is the Lewis's 3rd bottling of Mason's Cabernet, with previous vintages from 2006 and his birth year 2003. Mason's newest wine is his biggest and best yet. Saturated kirsch-like black fruits mingle seamlessly with savory oak spices in this complex blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (92%), Cabernet Franc (4%), Merlot (2%) and Petit Verdot (2%) all sourced from the same vineyards as their Napa Valley Cabernet. Youthful flavors of berry, malt chocolate and plum turn slightly more serious with supple tannins. 1,200 cases produced.
2009 Lewis Cabernet Sauvignon Napa
Price: $90.00
Quantity in Stock: 5
From the long, cool vintage of 2009, small hillside vineyards in Calistoga and Oak Knoll yielded a classic bottling of Napa Cabernet for us. Complex aromas center around fragrant, ripe boysenberry and dried currants with a hint of floral character and a kaleidoscope of sweet, oak forest spices, toffee and tobacco. Polished, fruitful and fresh the palate comes into beautiful focus with natural acidity, moderate tannins and a bit of baker's chocolate. 1,700 cases produced.
2008 Lewis Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Napa
Price: $130.00
Quantity in Stock: 5
Built for comfort as much as speed, the 2008 vintage is packed with fruit and ready to roll, reminding us of our outstanding 2002 Reserve Cabernet. Like the rich interior of a Ferrari GTB, the nose is showy, ripe and rustic with black currant, clove, tar and exotic oak spices. Under the hood this blend of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot shows plenty of extract and fleshy fruit delivering seamless power and expansive mouth feel. Moderate, chocolaty tannins engage mid-palate to gradually tighten the chassis and bring a lively quality to the ride. 1,500 cases produced.
2006 Lewis Cabernet Sauvignon Cuvee L Napa
Price: $235.00
First created from the spectacular 1997 vintage, the single best barrels from our finest lots fuel this rare wine. Think of Cuvee L as super-charged Lewis Reserve Cabernet. Cuvee L is not produced every year. It is only blended when we have the components to create a wine of greater intensity, depth and distinction than our Reserve Cabernet.
Pull the cork on our 2006 Cuvee L and the tachometer needle instantly hits the red zone. A full tank of explosive aromas, super-saturated fruit and showy oak spices feeds this blend of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc aged in 100% new French oak barrels. The wine is dark and deeply extracted, with layers of black fruit, and chocolate espresso flavors guaranteed to race your motor. On the track, a broad band of thickly textured tannins brings solid grip through the turns keeping everything on course for mile after mile. 225 cases produced.
2005 Lewis Cuvee 7 Lance Armstrong
Price: $412.50
Quantity in Stock: 3
Seven-time Tour de France winner, Lance Armstrong, takes his love of wine to a new level combining forces with Randy Lewis of Lewis Cellars in Napa Valley to create an exciting new Napa Cabernet - "Cuvee 7". The first ever 2005 Cuvee 7 is 100% Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from the year Lance won his seventh Tour de France. Only 4 barrels were made, producing less than 90 cases. The wine was aged in 100% new French oak and was bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Randy met Lance at the 2001 Tour de France. Europe was where he started his own 23-year professional racing career, including 5 Indy 500's. With wife, Debbie and son Dennis, Lewis Cellars has continued the "Driven..." theme as a winner, picked by James Laube of The Wine Spectator, as one of the top 10 Napa Cabernets since 1990. Lance has been to Napa many times including trips to taste the various Cabernet components and pick the final blend. They share a love of sports, and cycling has been Randy's number one exercise since 1977.
