Always Drink the Good Stuff First! – Andrew Lampasone

This is a weekend of "once in a lifetime" tasting experiences and one of the most educational wine seminars that take place anywhere in the world. One of the things that make this event unique is the owners or managing partners of the wineries will be on hand to taste through their wines and comment on the different vintages. The Friday night "Once In A Lifetime" will be a tasting that is just incredible, those of you that know me know how much I love dessert wines. The main seminar will be comprised of four seminars and dinner prepared by one of South Florida's finest- Chef Mark Militello:   For more information please call (561) 317-0910.

Seminar I (optional)
Madeira, Portugal

Once in a lifetime
7:00PM-9:30PM

Dr. Robert Maliner & Manny Berk

What a night we have in store for us this year. Both Manny (from the Rare Wine Company) and Dr. Bob are unquestionably the world’s premier experts on Madeira’s. I have talked them into a combined effort to showcase these amazing wines. Naturally, with the ability to age virtually endlessly this tasting will have the rarest and oldest wines this year. We will amazingly match two from 1834 and two from 1907 along with many other extremely rare wines all from the 1800’s and early 1900’s. This may be the only chance in a lifetime to drink some of these extraordinary gems.

Seminar V
Bodegas Vega Sicilia
Ribera del Duero

10 AM-12PM

Presented by
Pablo Alvarez
Director

This year I must totally quote Serena Sutcliffe MW because it is simply perfect" Vega Sicilia is one of the world’s most coveted wines and the only wine that literally created its area denomination. The Alvarez family look after this magnificent property with tremendous zeal, conscious that this is part of Spain’s viticultural patrimony, while the state-of-the-art winery is breathtaking in design and concept. Vertical tastings of Vega Sicilia form some of the most extraordinary experiences of my life, with vocabulary-defying aromas and tastes emerging after decades in bottle. There is an element of mystery in Vega - how does it achieve its stupendous complexity? The extreme climate of the Ribera del Duero can fix flavour in a very intense way and, when this is combined with the devoted care of Vega’s owners, the result is show-stopping." We will taste back to the 53 from this highly heralded Bodega!
