2006 Vintage California Cabernet Sauvignon - A Study of 20 Year old Cabernet Sauvignon

We like sweet words, but we like wine better and this year we are studying wines that are 20, 30, and 40 years of age.   We have the first in the series of tastings next Saturday with the 1986 vintage or 40 year-old Bordeaux tasting.  Then, on to Napa Valley on Thursday February 5^th and to follow that a study of 20 year old Italian wines on the very next night Friday February 6^th.  To complete the study we have the 30-year study combining Bordeaux and Napa Valley on Saturday March 14^th.   

This is true scientific research that we are doing here at the Wine Watch, checking each bottle to see when the best time to consume for the most drinking pleasure.  It's hard work but we are willing to sacrifice our body for our wine drinking people.  These wines are all from the outstanding 2006 vintage from California and they are now at 20 years of age which is what many would consider to be fully mature. 

The 2006 vintage was outstanding in many places on Earth for wine, but I remember being most excited about the wines of Tuscany, Piedmont and Northern California.

We have a few things in the store from 2006 but right now so I have included them on this offering. for those of you that can’t make this tasting, so check out the 2006’s they are now in their glory years but will drink nicely for many more decades if you like vintage wines.
