Vineyard given to grandmother as a cristening present granfather was a port shipper and then fruit farmers sold grapes to Sandeman and they started making wines in this label in 1991 and were one of the first producers to make top level unfortified wines from some of the Duero's top vineyards. A blend of 40% Touriga Nacional, 30% Tinto Roriz and 30% Touriga Franca and the bouquet has a good amount of fresh plowed earth, dark berry fruit, herbs and flowers, good complexity on the nose. Nice richness on the tongue with a good amount of that earhy character to the dark plum, cherry and currant berry fruit, very well balanced with nice length on the finish, big but still has wonderful freshness at the end and even better on the second day! Finish 40+ Very Good +
