2014 J Portugal Ramos Lima Vinho Verde DOC

This Vinho Verde is named for the legendary Lima River that originates in Ourense, Spain. During Roman times, solders avoided this river as it was said to be the incarnation of Lethe in Hades, a river from which the dead drank to forget their earthly lives. Today grapevines flourish along its banks, among them the flavorful Loureiro that composes the Lima Vinho Verde. Cold fermentation in stainless steel tanks creates a wine with excellent acidity and a freshness that is anything but forgettable.

Tasting Notes: Pale lemon yellow in color with aromas of lemon, lime, and laurel with subtler notes of green apple and minerality. On the palate the wine is elegant and engaging with mouth-filling flavors of citrus fruits, juicy green apple, and crisp pear with a zesty acidity that leads to a good long finish.

Food Pairing: Pair this wine with shellfish, ceviche, and grilled chicken salad, or just enjoy it as an easy-to-drink white wine
