2009 Domaine de L'Hortus Grande Cuvee Blanc Val De Montferrand image

A blend of 50% barrel-fermented Chardonnay, the balance shared between Roussanne and Viognier.  Has a nice nutty character to the rich tropical fruit, pears, peaches and perfumed white floral notes, 8 months on the lees in barrique, an unsalted butter character. Nice richnesss on the tongue smooth and creamy with a texture of whole milk, lots of tree fruit and a pretty floral note to the finish, nice richeess and lovely balance, slight oily texture, very rich. Finish 40    Excellent
