(90 points) The 1998 Château Guiraud is lovely and quite promising, though still showing a bit of youthful acetone in the upper register in the complex bouquet of lemon oil, dried orange, honey, complex herbal tones and a stylish framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and shows nice notes of herbal complexity, with a lovely core of pure fruit, fine cut and very good length and grip on the complex finish. A very fine bottle of Guiraud in its unique and own compelling style. (9/2009) John Gilman
