This is the second largest producer in Chile and this wine is a blend of Carmenere, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc and has a good amount of that fresh earth and bell pepper spice, cigar wrapper notes to the dark cherry and currant berry and plum fruit. This wine is from the Alto Jahuel estate around 40 miles from Santiago, tobacco and coffee notes, very typical chilean bouquet, a big and chewy wine on the tongue with a firm hand of tannins and acidity holding things together, a bit dry at the end but has a nice hand of fruit and a long finish echoing the nuance from the nose to the end. Finish 45+ a bit more balanced on the second day, really opening up nicely, this wine is very well built and will be better wtih a decade in your cellar. Excellent +
