2010 Casarena Malbec Lauren's Vineyard Agrelo

Owner is US bought property back in 2006 and Michel Rolland was here initially as a consultant but they now have disciples of Nicolas Catena. A very intense bouquet here with 18 months of new French oak showing a bit more spice and perfume from the oak but lots of everything else that distinct floral nuance from the other wines amplified. Dark berry fruit with an intensity that seemed to blossom overnight, dark spices, violet floral notes very complex and nuanced bouquet of aromas. Wow a big and chewy wine on the tognue with lots of everything, sweet dark berry fruit, lots of tannins, dark black spices and pretty floral nuance through the finish, this wine needs a day to open up and another decade or more in your cellar, lots of intensity but very balanced and long finish.
