Vineyard: This wine is made from 100% estate-grown Chardonnay in the Oak Knoll appellation of the Napa Valley. It is a blend of Dijon clone 96 and the coveted Wente Heritage clone. The gravelly vineyard soil is naturally well-draining. Tightly spaced, aggressively pruned and hand-tended, the vines produce small fruit lots with extremely high flavor concentrations.
Winemaker Notes: Randy Lewis, one of Napa’s most celebrated winemakers, crafts this 100% estate Chardonnay for the LOBO label. The estate-grown fruit is handharvested and aged sur lees for 11 months in 75% new French Oak. 100% malolactic fermentation.
Tasting Notes: Aroma: Peach, apricot and melon. Mouthfeel: Rich, smooth entry, polished and creamy on mid-palate, Burgundian lees character on long finish. Flavors: Trop
