2012 Vineyard House Cabernet Sauvignon Napa

2012 Vineyard House Cabernet Sauvignon Napa image

.WINE WATCH TASTING NOTES: This 2012 is the best Vineyard House wine made to date and we have tasted all of them on several occasions with Jeremy. We host a bring your best bottle tasting every year and this year the 2012 Vineyard House was picked as the crowd favorite! Jeremy sells grapes from his estate vineyard in Oakville to his neighbor Bill Harlan and a few years ago we put a Harlan estate blind into one of our Vineyard House tastings and the Vineyard House was picked as the crowd favorite that evening, giving this wine big props with our crows as Harlan Estate is $1000 per bottle and Vineyard House is 1/5 the price!! The blend on this vintage is 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot, made from estate vineyards in Oakville 90% and Calistoga 10%. This wine has a good amount of currant and dark plum fruit with hints of cedar, tobacco and dark chocolate. Big and chewy on the tongue but has ripe round tannins leaving a bit of dryness at the end but after a few hours in the decanter this wine is smooth as silk with a long-layered finish that goes on and on. Finish 50+ TASTING DATE 5/21/17.
