1986 Chateau Brane Cantenac Margaux

1986 Chateau Brane Cantenac Margaux image

A very strong effort during a period when Brane-Cantenac was somewhat of a hit-or-miss proposition, the dark garnet-colored 1986 has notes of fennel, black fruits, earth, and underbrush. The wine is medium-bodied, still shows some good, vibrant, vigorous fruit, medium to full body, and moderate tannin in the finish. It still tastes relatively youthful, and a lot younger than its more renowned siblings, the 1989 and 1990. (1/2003) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
