1982 was a superb vintage for St. Emilion. This wine was aged in new French oak barrels and consists of approximately 30% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon. Chateau Figeac has one of the highest proportions of Cabernet - and especially Cabernet Sauvignon - of any wine in the appellation. It can be a satisfying drink even when relatively young, thanks to the considerable quality of the Merlots, but the high percentage of varieties with strong ageing potential means that it also lives up to collectors' expectations.
