2012 Clos Canarelli Corse Figari

This is a clone of 70% Sangiovese and Nerlucci (a clone of Sangiovese) and 10% native varieties from a tiny single vineyard. This wine has a very unique bouquet of wild flowers and exotic spices and a bit of barnyard funk to the wine, very exotic, fresh fruit, a potpouree of flowers and peppery spice like notes coming out as the wine opens. A beautiful wine on the tongue with exotic floral and spice notes to the red berry fruit, pommegranite and red plum with wonderful freshness through the finish, falling apart a bit on the second day but still very interesting.
