2011 Conte Loredan Gasparini Merlot Falconera Colli Trevigiani

There is a touch of Malbec in the blend here but 95% Merlot, the vines here are 50 years old, the first release of this label was in the 1980's but in the 60's they were making wines here , they produce 15,000 bottles a year and this is the entry level wine from this property, all estate fruit. a very Bordeaux like bouquet on the nose cigar box spice, pepper, cedar and dark currant and plum like fruit on the nose, aged for 18 months in French oak. This wine has a very smooth texture on the tongue with a sold core of red currant and plum like fruit, that earth and spice from the nose through the finish. finsih 40+ Excellent
