2016 Los Vascos Le Dix Colchagua Valley

Price: $64.25

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon ( more than 85%), Syrah and Carmenère. In commemoration of 10 years of DBR (Lafite)’s work in Chile, the first “grande cuvée” LE DIX was created. Le Dix de Los Vascos originates from 70-year-old vines located in the terroir known as “El Fraile. This wine has a very complex bouquet of dark earth, mocha, coffee and dark currant and dark cherry fruit. Big and chewy on the tongue with a good amount of tannins here, this wine needs some time but has wonderful concentration and depth with toasty oak spice, bittersweet chocolate and espresso, very young with a long layered finish, this wine has it all and more I would like to see it in 10-15 years. Finish 50+ Most Excellent

2017 Los Vascos Carmenere Grande Reserve Colchagua Valley

Price: $18.00

Deep, intense ruby red. Fruity aromas of cherry, blackberry and ripe plum on a background of roasted hazelnuts, black pepper, ripe red bell pepper, puréed black olives, and roasted eggplant. Notes of dark chocolate, cherry liqueur, and black olive on the palate that harmonically combine with forward, elegant and persistent tannins. As a whole, an amazing communion of fruit and spices that helps the wine express its personality and typicity to the fullest.

2017 Los Vascos Grande Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Colchagua Chile

Price: $18.00

Beautiful ruby red color. Aromas of fresh, ripe fruits like raspberry, cherry, and plum can be discerned in the nose, along with notes of caramel, dark chocolate, black olive, and cedar. On the palate, the firm yet elegant tannins add structure and volume. A powerful, expressive offering with terrific freshness.

2016 Bodegas Caro Cabernet Malbec Blend Mendoza

Price: $63.00

(97 Points) 2016 might have reminded visiting Bordelais of a particularly wet harvest back home, but the best wines from the vintage are refreshing, balanced and wonderfully “European” in style. Combining Cabernet Sauvignon with 17% Malbec, this is a stunning blend showing elegance, poise and finesse. Racy and nuanced, with graphite, cedarwood and polished tannins.  Tim Atkin

2017 Amancaya Malbec Cabernet Mendoza

List Price: $19.75

(91 Points) Approximately half of the volume of the 2017 Amancaya matured in oak barrels, and the other half was kept in concrete vats for one year. This comes from vineyards in Altamira, and the barrels used for the élevage are mostly in barriques produced by Lafite that have a very light toast, with the idea to preserve the aromatics of the wine and let it breath and provide structure in the élevage without interfering with the aromas. The oak is very nicely integrated and folded into the fruit, and the wine comes through as quite pure and fruit driven, with moderate ripeness and a harmonious palate. This was born as the classical second wine in a Bordeaux sense. This wine is sold in Argentina as Petit Caro. 350,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in December 2018.  Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
