"It wasn't always like this. Before Paris, people didn't drink our wine. I mean, my friends did. But you could hardly consider their palates discerning..."

Bo Barrett - Bottle Shock

After the success of the last few week’s “Happy Hour” tastings, we have decided to carry on this casual event over the summer and this tasting is a belly up to the bar, hang out with your friends.  The food is casual, this is not a sit-down dinner- a true “Happy Hour” style event mix and immingle with our “Wine Drinking People” but with GREAT wines.  Tonight, we have a great selection of wines from the Reybier family featuring: Jeeper Champagne, Chateau Mascaronne Cotes De Provence Rose, Hetszolo Dry Furmint Hungary and Goulee by Cos d'Estournel Medoc.  We have a few good friends who represent these wines in South Florida from Twenty One wines to answer any hard questions that you may have; Florent Blanchet, Daniel Meissner and Marc Schlossberg will be here to host the event.

I have also included all the wines from these wineries that we have in the store on SALE on this offering.

This tasting starts at 6pm and chef Toni will be making some appetizers to accompany the tasting wines.  The fee for this tasting is $75 + tax, for reservations call 954-523-9463 or e-mail andy@winewatch.com

In love – Champagne Jeeper

NV Champagne Jeeper In Love
Price: $75.00               Sale $66.00

A celebration of love immortalised by this original ‘In Love’ design, engraved on the iconic curved Jeeper bottle. This is the ideal Valentine’s gift for those who love bubbly or enjoy collecting beautiful objects.
Each of my designs is a declaration of love to the woman I love. When the Jeeper team presented this bottle for Valentine’s Day to me, it seemed entirely natural and meaningful. What could be more romantic than a bottle of champagne to say “I love you”? This new declaration remains etched in the glass.” In Love

2015 Goulee by Cos d’Estournel Medoc
Price: $45.00       Your Price: $39.60            Quantity in Stock: 5

(89 points) The 2015 Goulee by Cos d’Estournel is fruity, supple and quite tasty. The richness of the year comes though in the wine’s radiant, ripe dark fruit character. Hints of leather, smoke and spice add aromatic nuance to this gracious, mid-weight wine from the Cos d’Estournel team. Time in the glass really brings out the wine’s aromatics nicely. The blend is 77% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Cabernet Franc.  (Feb 2018) Vinous

2015 Pagodes de Cos d'Estournel St. Estephe

(88 Points) Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Les Pagodes de Cos has a rather fragrant nose of florals and earthy notions over a core of warm black fruits, red currants and cherry cordial plus a waft of sautéed herbs. The medium-bodied mouth is finely crafted, refreshing and soft with well-played tannins.  Issue Date, 21st Feb 2018.  Source- Interim Issue Mid-February 2018, The Wine Advocate

2016 Pagodes de Cos d'Estournel St. Estephe
Price: $93.00       Your Price: $81.84            Quantity in Stock: 16
The joy and spontaneity of moments shared with loved ones. An impromptu lunch with friends is the perfect occasion to open a bottle of Pagodes de Cos. It is reminiscent of the simple pleasures of life, like homemade blackcurrant syrup, a bowl of just-picked red cherries or a freshly opened jar of citrus jam. Pagodes de Cos is at once indulgent, comforting and vivacious, like a carefree conversation with family or friends in a familiar place.
(92 Points) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate The 2016 Les Pagodes de Cos is blended of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46.5% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 0.5% Cabernet Franc. It has a deep garnet-purple color and opens with notions of warm cassis, black cherries and smoked meats giving way to scents of charcoal, underbrush and cloves plus a waft of new leather. Medium to full-bodied, it fills the palate with generous black fruits and some compelling red fruit sparks, supported by ripe, grainy tannins and finishing long and spicy.

2014 Chateau Cos D'Estournel St Estephe
Price: $285.00    Your Price: $250.80          Quantity in Stock: 2
(94 Points) A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc, the 2014 Cos d'Estournel has a deep garnet-purple color and is a little closed at this stage, offering slowly emerging scents of fresh blackcurrants, black plums and blackberries plus nuances of pencil shavings, dried lavender, bay leaves and fertile loam with a waft of iron ore. Medium to full-bodied, it has a generous mid-palate of muscular, youthful fruit with a firm frame of grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and savory.  Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

2012 Chateau Cos D'Estournel St. Estephe
Price: $270.00    Sale Price: $238.00           Quantity in Stock: 11
(93 Points) The 2012 Cos d'Estournel is a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. It has a deep garnet-purple color and reveals expressive black cherries, black raspberries and red and black plums scents with subtler notes of cassis, menthol, pencil lead and cigar box plus a touch of lavender. Medium-bodied and elegantly styled, with a rock-solid frame of chewy tannins, it delivers a lively lift on the long finish. This is a lovely wine with slightly chewier tannins and less stuffing than the 2011. Needs 4-5 years.  Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

2010 Cos D'Estournel Saint-Estephe
Price: $435.00    Sale Price: $382.80           Quantity in Stock: 16

(99 points) Blended of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot, the 2010 Cos d'Estournel is deep garnet with a touch of purple and comes at you like a variegated scent wall with profound notions of blackcurrant cordial, chocolate-covered cherries, spearmint, cigar box and hoisin plus suggestions of praline, charcoal and espresso. Full-bodied, the palate is jam-packed with layer upon layer of black and red fruits plus tons of savory accents and a firm backbone of ripe, grainy tannins, finishing very, very long, carrying great freshness and a beautiful spearmint lift. It’s a lot like the 2005 but with the volume turned up here. These 2010s are truly locked in a time capsule.  Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 112018

1982 Chateau Cos D'Estournel St. Estephe
Price: $625.00    Your Price: $550.00          Quantity in Stock: 6
(96 Points) A spectacular performance for this wine, Cos d'Estournel's 1982 exhibits a dark ruby/purple color with light pink at the rim. Sweet aromas of jammy black fruits intermixed with roasted espresso and vanillin jump from the glass of this young, concentrated, full-bodied, succulent effort. An opulent texture, low acidity, and splendidly pure, concentrated, blackberry and cassis fruit suggest this 1982 can be drunk now, or cellared for another 15-20 years. An awesome wine!
