1978 VS 1979 Vintage Red Burgundy Wine Tasting

Wine Watch is uniting wine drinking people at least three nights a week here at the Wine Bar and we like the theme of Burgundy so you will see a lot of tastings featuring these wines as long as we have them in stock.  It may seem like we have a nice collection of older Burgundies in the store, but these wines are not easy to find at these prices and we’re trying to drink as many as we can before they are gone.

The 1978 and 1979 vintages in Burgundy were two back-to-back excellent years for red, maybe not as good as the epic 1971 but on par with the 1976 vintage.  We have hosted several tastings with the 1978 and 1979 vintages; however I can’t remember if we have ever offered a nice selection of each at the same event.    If you love old Burgundy this is a tasting you do not want to miss!

I have also included every bottle of Burgundy that we have in the store from the 1978 and 1979 vintages so you can’t make this tasting you can curl up at home to a bottle of Burgundy and enjoy your favorite movie from the 1970’s like: Taxi Driver, Mean Streets, Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, Five Easy Pieces, The Last Detail, Chinatown, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Godfather, The Conversation, Jaws, The Exorcist, A Clockwork Orange, Star Wars, American Graffiti, National Lampoon's Animal House, Dirty Harry, Saturday Night Fever, Rocky, Enter The Dragon, and Apocalypse Now…. just to name a few of mine!
