Water Separates the people of the world. Wine unites them.
Our study in Burgundy continues this month and it will be hard to match the Leroy versus DRC tasting but the show must go on and as expensive as the top wines from Burgundy are there are still a lot of great values coming from the world’s greatest dirt for the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varietals.
This time our study just contains red and everything here is from the decade of the 1980’s which contained several outstanding vintages from Burgundy. Most of the wines are from the outstanding 1985 vintage but we also have some 1983’s and a few 1988’s and one 1989 on the table this evening.
Justin in case you can’t make it I have also included every bottle of Burgundy that we have in the store from the 1980’s so you can curl up to a bottle of 1980’s Burgundy and enjoy your favorite movie from this decade like: Fast Times at Ridgemont High, ET, Risky Business, Caddy Shack, Scarface, Back to the future, The breakfast Club, Top Gun, Platoon, Ferris Buehlers day off, Fatal Attraction, Full Metal Jacket, Dirty Dancing, The Princess Bride, Beetlejoice, A fish called Wanda, Coming to America and Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure just to name a few of mine...
Join us as we experience 10 wines from the 1980’s along with a special meal prepared by chef Toni Lampasone. There are only 14 seats available for this tasting; the fee is $125 per person + tax, for reservations call 954-523-9463 or e-mail andy@winewatch.com. The vines, aged between 35 and 40 years, are east/south-east facing, on limestone soil. Domaine du Clos Frantin’s Grands-Echézeaux parcel lies on brown limestone soil which makes for complex wines with an unparalleled power. This wine is concentrated and fleshy when young.
