"Never, never trust anyone who asks for white wine. It means they're phonies."
- Bette Davis
Hey, most people don’t take rose wine seriously either but there are some incredible pink wines out there so we are going to start a trend here at the Wine Watch for the end of the summer and host an annual end of the summer rose tasting at the new Wine Watch Wine Bar starting next Saturday night August 19th. Come out and experience the first ever Wine Watch end of the summer rose wine tasting next Saturday night.

2016 Chateau La Mascaronne "Quat 'saisons" Rose
Price: $20.25 Sale $17.82
A quintessential Provencal Rosé that’s made from 70% Cinsault, 16% Grenache and 14% Syrah, the 2015 Quat'Saisons offers up a light pink color to go with mouthwatering aromas and flavors of wild strawberries, rosé petal and salty minerality. Medium to light-bodied, juicy and gorgeously fresh and quaffable, with solid fruit and texture, it doesn’t get much better than this for a hot summer day and this beauty should be purchased by the case.
2016 Domaine Frédéric Brouca Rose Faugeres
Price: $18.75 Sale $16.50
Bonny Doon vin gris de cigar 2016
Price: $15.75 Sale $13.86 Case $161
The ’16 Vin Gris is a bit of a departure from recent vintages, somewhat deeper in color and definitely a bit fruitier than some, though the fruit is perhaps (at least at this stage) more of the dark and brooding variety, particularly suggestive of black currants, Damson plum and rosehips. In our modern world, one must never, ever, ever, make anything like a health claim for an alcoholic beverage. (Though it does smell an awful lot like any of the sundry tisanes (tilleul, eglantine) that will definitely do you some good.) Its perfume is subtle, haunting, not vulgar or tawdry, like some of the louche roses de la nuit. Enfin, this wine is all about elegance and restraint. Rosehips, cassis, fraises de bois, citrus rind, with a wonderfully austere stony finish.
Blend: 49% Grenache, 19% Grenache Blanc, 13% Mourvedre, 12% Carignane, 4% Cinsaut, 3% Roussanne
Chateau Saint Roseline 2016

Composed of 10% white wine, 35% red wine and 55% rosé, the average production of Château Sainte Roseline is the promise of discovering a great wine from Provence! Created in a fabulous historical and artistic setting, faithfully reflecting an older and mordern culture, an expression of style, the wine Château Sainte Roseline Cru Classé is a wine of emotion. It contains an extraordinary part of dream and passion, that is passed down from generation to generation.

WINEMAKER’S NOTES: This beautiful Rosé has a wonderful orange-tinged rose color evoking Hamptons sunsets. Lush aromas of ripe fresh fruit—cantaloupes, pears and peach—fill the glass. The mouth-feel is zaftig, full-flavored with ripe fruit notes, yet stays elegant and balanced with vibrant acidity and classic minerality. The finish is long and has hints of fine tannins to make this wine even more complex. There is a seamless continuity from start to finish, making it a very versatile, food-friendly summer wine.
