Chateau Gris Nuits-Saint-Georges Blanc Les Terrasses 2013
Price: $86.75       Sale $76.34          Case $885

Nuits-Saint-Georges, which gave the Côte de Nuits its name, is almost exclusively devoted to the production of red Pinot Noir wines noir (about 300 ha).  Only 7.3 ha are planted in white vines, included  4.3 ha in 1er cru. Our vineyard of 0.67 ha   is   located   on   the   high   terraces   of   the   hill   on   three   terraces   above   the   Château   Gris   (1802),   south   of
Nuits-Saint-George  .  The  soil  is  clay,  rich  in  limestone,  on  a  basement  composed  of  a  stratum  of  middle  Bathonian Jurassic.

Our  Nuits-Saint-Georges  has  a  very  bright  and  pale  green-gold  colour  .  The nose  is    very  delicate  and  complex  with notes of limestone minerality, hot spices, fallen leaves, China tea, Angelica flower.  It has a fine, well-balanced structure, with liveliness and full body underlined by integrated new oak.

Albert Bichot Beaune 1er Cru Blanc Clos Des Mouches Domaine Du Pavillon 2012
Price: $118.55    Sale $104.33       Case $1209

The "Clos des Mouches" is located to the south of Beaune, overlooking Pommard. It was not the presence of flies ("mouche" in French) but of bees and beehives in this area which gave it this name. Was it the golden chardonnay grapes' ability to delicately ripen under the sun which attracted the bees to take refuge here?

The "Clos des Mouches" is one of Burgundy's gems and is certainly in the same league as a Grand Cru. Our vineyard parcel is located at an altitude of 300 metres, orientated South-southeast on light marly limestone which is reflected in the wine's finesse. Freshness and mineral-based structure are consistent characteristics of this vineyard area.

The notes of white flowers, honey and beeswax are telling signs of a high-calibre wine. The mouth is racy, well-sculptured with an incomparable persistence.

Albert Bichot Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos Blanc Domaine Long-Depaquit 2009
Price: $148.00    Sale $130.24       Case $1510

Les Clos, which in terms of surface area is biggest of the Chablis Grand Cru vineyards is located in the South-East sector. We are privileged to possess two vineyards here, with a total of almost 4 acres which allows us to blend these two different and complementary characters.
The first vineyard is located at mid-slope height and benefits from slightly higher temperatures than the second which is located on the top portion of the slope, protected from the north winds by the nearby forest.

The two vineyard plots once again reveals that Burgundy is the kingdom of "terroirs". The first vineyard plot at mid-slope generally provides deeper, richer and fattier wines whereas the second plot produces wines with greater acidity and tension. But it is the blending of the two which will give the final complexity to our "Les Clos".

To the eye, our "Les Clos" Grand Cru beautifully displays its palette of pale yellows. The blend of our two vineyard plots can be detected throughout tasting. Firstly the nose, skilfully combining the floral notes from the highest of the two vineyard plots with almond and hazelnut notes from the mid-height slope vineyard.  The mouth is full and structured around an uninvasive acidity.

Albert Bichot Chablis Grand Cru Moutonne Blanc Domaine Long-Depaquit 2013
Price: $147.75    Sale $130.02       Case $1508

La Moutonne is a 6-acre vineyard nestled in a natural amphitheatre in the heart of the Grand Cru sector of the historical age-old Chablis wine country. Its shape and ideal spot make it a natural solar receptor. Sitting 95% on Vaudésir and 5% on Preuses (formerly owned by the Pontigny monks), La Moutonne is a Domaine Long-Depaquit monopoly. With a South-southeast exposure, its pronounced central slope (almost 40%) protects this vineyard from north winds. It is also located on a major geological stratus from the second era known as kimmeridgian, with a clay and limestone soil. This particular stratus is characterized by the presence of marly limestone containing fossils of a small comma-shaped oyster (Ostrea Virgula). These soils are soft and crumbly with a rather pale colour. Great care is taken to deal with winter freezing in this vineyard, in the most durable way from an ecological aspect. An installation of heated electric wires allows the prevention of spring frost in an innovative and environmentally-friendly manner. As throughout the Long-Depaquit Estate, cultivation of the vine here respects the environment.

Beautifully clear golden-green robe with very bright reflections. Nose is fleshy fruit (peach, nectarine) with discreet citrus and floral notes (jasmine, violet). Mouth is ample and generous with a very distinct marly minerality due to the micro-terroir. Immense freshness, light and supple woody hints with an exceptional persistence.

Albert Bichot Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Rouge Morgeot 2009
Price: $82.50       Sale $72.60          Case $842

The Morgeot terroir covers several ?climats', neighbouring the Abbey of Morgeot, in the south of the village. In the Middle Ages, these lands belonged to the Abbey of Maizières, who stripped the area to plant vines and construct the buildings necessary for exploitation.
One can says that Morgeot is to Côte de Beaune, what Clos de Vougeot is to Côte de Nuits. The second peculiarity of this vineyard is that it is planted with both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Morgeot is the best known of the terroirs in Chassagne-Montrachet

Our Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru Morgeot is brilliant and limpid with ruby red colour. The first nose offers aromas of well-integrated oak, red fruit and plum with a hint of spice. This mineral wine features good structure and balance. The tannins are fine and elegant and give a very bold, precise structure to this wine.

Albert Bichot Pommard Rouge Clos Des Ursulines Domaine Du Pavillon 2012
Price: $78.00       Sale $68.64          Case $796

Pommard is one of the most famous villages in the Côte de Beaune and is well-known for its red wines. The reddish-brown soil is rich in hard piedmont limestone which yields some of Burgundy's most tannic, robust wines. They are more powerful than the neighbouring wines from Beaune and are often considered to be "masculine" wines. The Clos des Ursulines, a peaceful haven dotted with centuries-old pine trees, is located at the heart of Pommard. It is
undoubtedly this tranquillity that once enchanted the nuns from the Ursuline convent who were the first owners of the estate. This walled vineyard is now the favourite spot for the current generation of Bichot children to play at hide-and-seek when the family gets together for one of their grand reunions. This 4-hectare monopole is located at the southern end of the Pommard appellation toward Volnay. At the foot of the slope, clayey calcic brown soil overlies hard Middle Jurassic limestone. Facing east/south-east, this vineyard benefits from excellent exposure to the sun which yields quality fruit. The high proportion of clay in the soil lends both structure and depth to the wine.

Endowed with beautiful, deep garnet red colour, this Pommard Clos des Ursulines reveals a fruity nose with aromas of cherry, blackcurrant and fig. Over the years these aromas will evolve toward notes of coffee and leather. Full and round on the palate with ripe tannins and rich, but not heavy, substance. This wine is powerful and well-structured yet remains subtle, elegant, silky and almost "feminine" due to the vineyard's proximity to Volnay. The finish is silky and velvety

Albert Bichot Gevrey Chambertin Les Murots Rouge Domaine du Clos Frantin 2013
Price: $82.50       Sale $72.60          Case $842

One of the great appellations of the Côte de Nuits both in terms of size and of reputation, Gevrey Chambertin is characterised by a wide variety of different terroirs. No white wines are found here, only pinot noir is cultivated. Our 3.5 acre plot is located at the bottom of the hillside slope at a spot known as Les Murots. The soils are clay-and-limestone with the latter dominating. On the surface, the high proportion of scree gravel carried by the dejection cone from the Lavaux combe provides drainage which favours ripening of the grapes by reverberation of heat and of the sun's rays.

This light soil surface gives Gevrey-Chambertin wines a palette of red fruit, mineral notes and a suppleness characteristic of this terroir.  Albert Bichot Vosne Romanee 1er Cru Les Malconsorts Rouge Domaine Clos Frantin 2013
