2009 Preisinger Zweigelt
Price: $23.00    Your Price: $20.24     Quantity in Stock: 10

Winemakers Notes: The grapes for this Zweigelt grow in the same top sites in the Pannobile Area like the ones that I use for the Pannobile. Hand picked in the first weeks of September, first selection in the vineyard, second selection in the winery, natural fermentation in stainless steel tanks, matured for 10 months in small barrels on the yeast. Juicy, full bodied and at the same time soft, this wine can be served right now and also ages pretty well. A wine about pleasure and joyful drinking.

2009 Bodegas y Vinedos Fernandez Rivera Dehesa la Granja Ribera del Duero
Price: $15.75    Your Price: $13.86     Quantity in Stock: 14

Alejandro Fernandez followed in his father`s footsteps, by originally making wine from his small vineyards. However it wasn`t until 1972 that he was able to establish his own winery, complete with 16th century wine press, which still survives to this day. Today there are some 200 hectares of vineyards, primarily planted with Tempranillo.

100% Tempranillo, this wine is a deep ruby in colour with rich black fruits on the palate complemented by smoke and spice notes. The wine benefits from 24 months oak ageing in American oak and a further 12 months in bottle, giving it a soft and rounded mouthfeel with supple tannins.

2009 Camille Giroud Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru
Price: $179.00    Your Price: $157.52 Quantity in Stock: 12

2009 Chateau Simone Palette Rouge
Price: $75.00    Your Price: $66.00     Quantity in Stock: 7

Those of you who know Simone realize that the red, a tenacious but ultimately elegant wine, is an equal, rather than dominant, partner to the striking rosé and the sublime white. Like the rosé, it is a blend primarily of Grenache, Mourvèdre and Cinsault but there are pockets of old-growth vines of Syrah, Manosquin, Castet, Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon and Muscat Noir that season the vineyards and add to the stunning complexity of these wines. The influence of Mont Sainte Victoire, its surface covered in rich pine forest, is apparent in the flavors and aromas of the red wine of Simone. Annually, there are 2400 bottles available for the US market.

2009 Castello del Terriccio Lupicaia
Price: $157.50    Your Price: $138.60 Quantity in Stock: 7

It is the leading wine of the farm - the wine which has made the estate world-renowned. This rich Super Tuscan has considerable ageing potential and it is one of the finest made; its debut vintage, as well as all following vintages, achieved the coveted Tre Bicchieri award. The two characteristic red-brown parallel segments on the label symbolize the typical red colour of the soil in the vineyards.

Lupicaia is a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot, vinified from only the best of the carefully selected grapes, and aged for 18-24 months in new French oak barrels. A heady blend of crushed black cherry, blackberry and spice aromas precede plush blackcurrant, dark chocolate and mint-laced fruit with mineral aspect and a sculpting acity. Tannins are big, round and soft before an eternal finish.

2009 Cerbaiona Brunello di Montalcino
Price: $180.00    Your Price: $158.40 Quantity in Stock: 4

The estate was established with the 1981 vintage by former pilot Diego Molinari, and from 1982 onwards  they have performed flawlessly. Daniel Thomases, the senior critic of Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, rates the estate as closest to Case Basse di Soldera, the most expensive and sought after Brunello on the market.  And like Soldera, the wines are aged in the "old style" with Slavonian tonneaux instead of the fashionable  French barriques. The "Commander," as this pilot is commonly called, creates a consistent style of pure elegance backed with power. These impeccably made Brunellos are an IWM favorite.

2009 Chateau Asteries Saint Emilion
(last bottle)

(96 Points) "This formidable wine has loads of structure, an undeniable chalky minerality, big, rich blackberry and creme de cassis fruit, with hints of spring flowers, tar and licorice. Magnificent and pure, this is a killer example of St.-Emilion that is full-bodied and capable of lasting 25-30 years." The Wine Advocate

2009 K Vintners Syrah Royal City
Price: $170.00    Your Price: $149.60 Quantity in Stock: 3

100% Syrah, Man this is it! You name it, it's got it. Hickory, black cherry, Venezuelan chocolate, pie crust, camphor, beeswax and suede. It is complex. It is elegant. It is Royal City.
