Water Separates the people of the world.  Wine unites them.

03162017-1990s-bordeaux-vintage.jpg

We just hosted an event with 1990 vintage Bordeaux so I thought it was only fair to offer our "wine Drinking people an opportunity to drink some 1990 vintage Burgundy as well.

The wine that is the most transcendental for me is Burgundy and we will be experimenting with some of the best vintages from the decade of the 1990’s and top grand crus this evening including; Clos De Tart, Clos de la Roche, La Grande Rue and more. Join us as we experience 10 wines from the decade of the 1990’s with Toni Lampasone’s famous beef bourguignon.  There are only 14 seats available for this tasting; the fee is $275 per person + tax, for reservations call 954-523-9463.  Please let us know when you make your reservation if you don’t eat beef and we are happy to accommodate you.

For those of you that can’t make it I have also included every bottle of Burgundy that we have in the store from the 1990’s on this offering.

Price $169.00                      Sale $140.00
Quantity in Stock: 2

(92 points) Jadot's stunning 1990 Beaune Clos des Ursules is fully mature, although there is no rush to consume it as it will enjoy another 5-8 years of life. The color is a healthy medium ruby with lightening at the edge. A sweet, earthy, mineral, dusty, black cherry-scented nose is intense and ripe. In the mouth, the wine is medium to full-bodied, with a plush texture, a subtle note of toasty oak, and a long, layered, heady finish. The acidity is present, but it is not intrusive. 1995 Mommessin Clos de Tart Grand Cru
Price $395.00      Sale $347.60
Quantity in Stock: 6

(92 points)  Displaying a medium-to-dark ruby color and a lovely nose of spicy red berries, cracked black pepper, Asian spices, and distinctive notes of cedar, this is a medium-to-full-bodied, velvety-textured, and complex wine. Its enthralling flavor profile offers layers of rich black pepper-laced blueberries and blackberries that are intensely spiced with cinnamon, juniper berries, and hints of eucalyptus. 1996 Domaine Dujac Clos de la Roche Grand Cru
Price: $1,150.00 Sale $1012
Quantity in Stock: 4

(96 points)  Dujac’s 1996 Clos de La Roche is served last, but its pedigree comes through loud and clear in seemingly endless aromas and flavors that dazzle. Savory herbs, rose petal and soft, supple fruit cress the palate in this gorgeous Burgundy. The 1996 is just entering the early part of its maturity. It should drink well for another decade or two. This is a magnificent showing from the Seysses family. (AG) (7/2014) Vinous

1996 Mommessin Clos de Tart Grand Cru
Price $495.00      Sale $435.60       Case $5049
Quantity in Stock: 4

Tasted at the pre-dinner vertical to mark Sylvain Pitiot's retirement from the domaine, the 1996 Clos de Tart Grand Cru - which was Sylvain Pitiot's debut vintage - has a surprisingly rich, licorice-tinged bouquet, although it does not have the charm or the pinoté of the 1997. This just seems a little 'forced' compared to others, and it seems to dry a little. The palate is medium-bodied and shows a little more class than the nose, grippy in the mouth with baking powder and white pepper notes, bay leaf and clove. There is a feral aspect to this Clos de Tart, yet there is decent length here. Drink this now and over the next decade. Tasted September 2015. (NM) (10/2015) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

1997 Domaine Dujac Clos de la Roche Grand Cru
Price $495.00     Sale $435.60       Case $5049
Quantity in Stock: 3

(93 points)  The first-rate 1997 Clos de la Roche has exuberant aromas of red fruits and licorice. This is a wine that combines Dujac's trademark elegance with power, density, and jammy, super-ripe flavors. Candied berries, chocolate-covered cherries, and red currant liqueur are found in this medium to full-bodied, complex, and mouth-coating offering. (PR) (10/1999) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
